| David Phelps was born and raised in Anoka, MN. He started performing in church
choirs and other ensembles around his home area when he was 4 and hasn't stopped
since. He recently graduated from Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota with
a degree in Music Education. Dave fills out the low end of Marcoux Corner
providing the stomach-rattling bass and foot-stomping beat. He comes from a
pedigree of great musicians and has been involved in performing for years prior
to his tenure in Marcoux. He honed his talent in high school participating in
musical theater productions, and continued it in college with other A Cappella
groups such as Almost Six, Laudibus and most notably, the Concordia Concert
Choir. He is the freshest face in Marcoux and the youngest member. Welcome Dave! |
| Brent Thorson is the Swiss-Army Knife of A Cappella music and is Marcoux Corner's utility man. He sings a screaming lead, Tenor I and II, provides the smooth baritone back-up part on a handful of songs all the while keeping the beat with a tambourine and his unique and heralded vocal percussion. Brent has created a beat-boxing style all his own and is quickly becoming one of the best VP's in the A Cappella world. Brent was born in West Fargo, ND, attended High School in Crookston, MN and earned his Bachelor Degree and Teaching Licensure for music at Concordia College in Moorhead. Brent starting singing with the renowned Fargo Boys Choir as a toddler and has been taking voice lessons since the tender age of 10. At Concordia Brent was a soloist with the internationally heralded Concordia Choir as well as a frequent recital performer. There is nothing this man cannot do, and he has the sweetest lil dimples to boot! |
| The Savvy Traveler, Josh was born in Fargo, raised as the child of
missionaries in Brazil before returning to MN to begin his reign as
Baritone extraodinaire. Josh's clear, saucy and debonaire voice covers
the hard inner harmonies for Marcoux and then, as if he was born to do
it, he'll leave his home range to add a soaring resonant falsetto and a
rocking lead. Not only does Josh mix it up within the group's vocal
hierarchy, he is also the sound engineer for Marcoux Corner, mixing it
up at the dials during the live shows and down in the studio. Josh runs
his own recording studio in the Minneapolis area which can be found here.
He is responsible for the material on all of the Marcoux recordings,
from mixing, engineering, recording and even played a hand in some of
the mastering. There
is no doubt that he carries the behind the scenes load and makes
the Marcoux live show seem effortless and smooth. A former member of the
Concordia Choir and a graduate of MN State University Moorhead, Josh
Baesler is a one of a kind talent. |
| Kevin Taylor was born in Crookston, MN and has been singing A Cappella music since the 7th grade, when he and Brent started a group called ‘The Soles’. Kevin sings alot of the high screeching parts in Marcoux Corner and also adds a unique ‘goofball’ flavor to the live show. His infectious energy level and tragic dance skills help to add another layer to the already creative stage presence of Marcoux Corner. Kevin started studying the voice as an instrument in High School, continued on while singing in the Gustavus Adolphus Concert Choir and then again at Concordia College where he started singing with Brent and Josh and helped to form Marcoux Corner in the early years. Now he’s living the dream with his 3 best friends and traveling the country doing what he loves best; performing and making people laugh and smile! |
