7/8/07 - UTTER PONDERANCE
It seems that doomsday scenarios are all the rage. The Star Tribune newspaper in Minneapolis featured a story today about the possible after affects of the impending and unavoidable nuclear terrorist attack in the US. It desperately lacked any news relevance and stunk so badly of fear profiteering that I switched to sending sardonic text messages to my friends, irreverantly waking them up early in the morning. However, unwittingly, something must have shifted in my brain while I read the Tribune because I found myself pondering future catastrophe. A chill shot down my spine when I noticed the cover of my coffee cup's 'to-go' lid and saw the expiration date on top of it; 12/16/20. In exactly 13 years and 160 days, no more and no less, the plastic cover on my coffee was set to expire. Paranoia sunk in as I contemplated the calamity that was so clearly imminent. Would it melt away? Perhaps it will spontaneously combust setting fire to my laptop computer and crisping the edges of my blueberry scone. There is a chance that it will covertly start leaking carcinogens into my drink or, and heaven forbid, it will dillute the caffeine content in said java, rendering me groggy and inaffective all day, simply unable to keep up with the chop-chop pace of the modern convention we've all come to know as life in the roarin' 20's (2020 that is). I want to thank the Star Tribune for opening my eyes, helping me realize that we have alot to think about. It is our duty to remain informed and paranoid citizens while constant vigilance and newspaper subscriptions are our only true hope of survival.

Hey there. If you have anything you want on this website that isn't here (except videos, cause they're coming soon) let me know. We're working on a pictures page and getting some other fun stuff up here, but we're not very efficient. Anyway, I am hoping things find you well, I can't even begin to say how happy I am with the direction Marcoux is rolling in, we've just got some great gigs lined up for the summer, we've been hitting it hard in the studio and adding some new stuff to our shows. It seems like we just keep having more and more fun the longer we do this, all we need now is for the van to hold out another year or so!! Give us feedback on the page please, and the show, send us an e-mail and let us know what you want to see from Marcoux Corner! Later Alligators!
